How to deposit on Polymarket
Open Deposit, pick a chain and token, and send funds to the address Polymarket shows you. Everything is converted automatically into pUSD on Polygon, which you trade with. Polymarket charges no deposit fee; minimums are a few dollars on most networks.
Quick steps
- Open the deposit screen. Log in and click Deposit.
- Choose chain and token. Pick the network your funds are on, e.g. Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin or Tron.
- Copy the address. Copy the deposit address Polymarket shows for that network. Double-check it.
- Send a small test first. Send a small amount above the minimum and wait for it to arrive.
- Send the rest. Once the test shows up as pUSD in your balance, send the remaining funds.
How deposits work
Polymarket uses pUSD on Polygon as collateral for every trade. When you deposit, a bridge receives your tokens on whichever chain you choose and converts them to pUSD for you. USDC (native or bridged) is wrapped 1:1; other tokens are swapped at the market rate.
Ready to try it? Check it is available where you live, then open Polymarket.
Open PolymarketDeposit methods
| Method | Good for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Crypto transfer | Anyone who already holds crypto | Cheapest route on low-fee chains. Supports many tokens across EVM chains, Solana, Bitcoin and Tron. |
| Buy with card / partner | Beginners with no crypto | Convenient, but the partner charges its own fee and FX spread. |
| Exchange withdrawal | Holders on Coinbase, Binance, etc. | Withdraw USDC to your Polymarket address on a supported network. Check the network carefully. |
| US dollars (Polymarket US only) | US residents | Separate product with bank funding; not available on the international site. |
Minimum deposits
Each token has its own minimum. On low-cost networks such as Polygon, Base, Arbitrum and Optimism it is only a couple of dollars; Ethereum, Bitcoin and Tron have higher minimums because bridging costs more. Amounts below the minimum may not be credited, so always check the number shown on the deposit screen before sending.
Deposit fees
Polymarket itself does not charge to deposit or withdraw. You still pay the network fee on the chain you send from, and card or exchange partners may add their own charges. Sending USDC on a cheap network is usually the lowest-cost option.
Most common mistake: choosing a different network on your exchange than the one you selected on Polymarket. Funds sent on an unsupported network can be lost. Always match the network and send a test amount first.
Deposit not showing?
- Wait for confirmations on the source chain. Bitcoin and Ethereum are slower than Polygon or Solana.
- Check that the amount was above the minimum for that token.
- Check that you used the address for the right network.
- If it is still missing, contact Polymarket support from inside the app with your transaction hash.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum deposit on Polymarket?
It depends on the network and token: about $2 on cheap networks like Polygon or Base and more on Ethereum, Bitcoin and Tron. The deposit screen shows the exact minimum.
Can I deposit Bitcoin on Polymarket?
Yes. Bitcoin is one of the supported deposit assets and is converted to pUSD on arrival.
Why does my balance say pUSD instead of USDC?
Polymarket switched its trading collateral to pUSD, a USDC-backed token. It is worth $1 and converts back to USDC when you withdraw.
