The legal situation in France
The ANJ first acted in November 2024, after which Polymarket geoblocked French users. On 16 July 2026 the ANJ ordered French internet providers to block the whole Polymarket website as unlicensed gambling. Polymarket said on 22 July 2026 that it would challenge the order in court, and the block stays in force unless a court suspends it.

What are your options in France?
If Polymarket or local law restricts this country, the honest answer is: don't try to get around it. VPNs and third-party wallets break Polymarket's terms, can get funds frozen and may be illegal locally. Look for prediction markets or exchanges licensed by Autorité nationale des jeux (ANJ), and check back here: rules change.
