The legal situation in Hungary
On 16 January 2026 the SZTFH ordered a temporary block on polymarket.com for Hungarian IP addresses while it investigates suspected illegal gambling by the operator, Adventure One QSS. The block runs until a final decision, and none had been published by late 2026. The order came while markets on Hungary's April 2026 parliamentary election were trading.
Key facts

- Polymarket itself does not geoblock Hungary.
What are your options in Hungary?
If Polymarket or local law restricts this country, the honest answer is: don't try to get around it. VPNs and third-party wallets break Polymarket's terms, can get funds frozen and may be illegal locally. Look for prediction markets or exchanges licensed by Szabályozott Tevékenységek Felügyeleti Hatósága (SZTFH, Supervisory Authority for Regulated Activities), and check back here: rules change.
