The legal situation in Lithuania
Lithuania's Gaming Control Authority (LPT) blocked Polymarket in September 2026, after the Vilnius Regional Administrative Court approved its order. The LPT opened and funded its own account, placed fixed-odds bets on sporting outcomes, and concluded that Polymarket offers unlicensed betting. ISPs must block the site, and payment providers must stop transactions with the operator, Adventure One QSS. It is the first prediction market Lithuania has blocked.
Key facts

- Online gambling has been legal since 2016, but only for operators licensed in Lithuania.
What are your options in Lithuania?
If Polymarket or local law restricts this country, the honest answer is: don't try to get around it. VPNs and third-party wallets break Polymarket's terms, can get funds frozen and may be illegal locally. Look for prediction markets or exchanges licensed by Lošimų priežiūros tarnyba (Gaming Control Authority, LPT), and check back here: rules change.
