The legal situation in the Netherlands
On 20 January 2026 the KSA issued an order subject to penalty (last onder dwangsom) requiring Polymarket's operator, Adventure One QSS, to stop serving Dutch users by 17 February 2026. Polymarket complied a day late, and the KSA collected €420,000 in penalties. On 23 June 2026 the KSA rejected Polymarket's objection, holding that prediction markets are gambling under Dutch law. Polymarket's geoblock lists the Netherlands as close-only on the website.

What are your options in the Netherlands?
If Polymarket or local law restricts this country, the honest answer is: don't try to get around it. VPNs and third-party wallets break Polymarket's terms, can get funds frozen and may be illegal locally. Look for prediction markets or exchanges licensed by Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), and check back here: rules change.
