The legal situation in Rwanda
Rwanda is not geoblocked by Polymarket, and no Rwandan action on it was found. Gambling is licensed by the Rwanda Development Board under Law No. 58/2011, and licensing resumed in 2025 after a pause of more than a year. The BNR long treated crypto as illegal and reaffirmed that stance in April 2026. In May 2026, Parliament passed a virtual assets law that moves oversight to the Capital Market Authority.
