The legal situation in Tanzania

Polymarket does not geoblock Tanzania, and no Tanzanian action against Polymarket was found. Online betting is legal through operators licensed by the Gaming Board under the Gaming Act (No. 4 of 2003, now Cap. 41) and the Gaming (Internet Gaming) Regulations 2022. In 2022 the Board said it is the only body that may issue gambling licences. Polymarket holds no Tanzanian licence. The Bank of Tanzania has issued crypto risk warnings but has not banned private ownership.
